Who
is Richard?
Once upon a time, I was an engineer. Then a finance guy. Then the co-owner of an architectural services company. I like challenges! On the side, I always pushed my own limits physically. So about six years ago, I made it official and got certified as a personal trainer. I wanted to help others overcome their barriers to living fit and healthy lives. For the past three years, I’ve been working at the UBCO gym training people of all kinds of abilities.
Full disclosure: I was born when the Beatles were the hottest band around. I grew up in southern Ontario before moving to the Okanagan with my family. I’m proof that age is nothing but a number. With a little help, fitness is achievable with the right mindset and belief in yourself.

I offer strength training, mobility training and cardio training based on your goals. I’ve worked with a variety of clients with many constraints - we can work through or around almost anything!

To get started contact me via email or fill out the contact form. We’ll schedule our first trial session, which will be part assessment, part workout.
From there I can design a workout plan and a schedule. Then we’ll get started!

I offer a combined assessment and trial workout. Your first session with me is $50. It will take between 75-90 minutes.
In this session, we’ll go in-depth on your health and exercise history. You’ll tell me what you’re wanting to achieve and what you’re worried about. And, of course, you’ll decide whether I’m the right guide for your goals.

I have a wide range of life experience that helps me relate and empathize with my clients. It’s an advantage of being a little older. I’ve worked in a lot of modalities and with lots of different kinds of people with varying physical conditions and issues.
I also have an extensive collection of fitness gear that allows me to bring essentials to your location to train. If you have stuff, that’s great too.

My typical rate starts at $75/hour. I also offer packages with discounted rates - let’s talk about what we can do together!
